THE INTERNATIONAL SESSION OF THE BASIC SYSTEMS COMMISSION OF THE WORLD METEOROLOGICAL ORGANIZATION
Session BSC WMO will take place for the first time in the Russian Federation.
The organizers of the Session are: World Meteorological Organization at support of the Basic Systems Commision, the World Weather Service, Administration of Saint-Petersburg and the Exhibition-Congress Fund «Severnaya Palmira». More than 200 representatives from 178 states-members of WMO will take part in this Session including General Secretary and President of the Organizarion.

The purpose of the Session:

coordination of activity of the World Weather Service, maintenance of the population and economy in the various countries the information on the current and predicted condition of weather, release of a various sort of preventions of the dangerous and especially dangerous hydrometeorological phenomena.

Carrying out of BSC WMO session will promote increase the authority of the country in WMO system , to attraction of additional means for reequipment of meteorological service of the Russian Federation as a whole, and in particular, objects of meteorological service of other regions.
