The International Conference was organized by Ministry of Defense of Russia with the support of Russian Ministry of Culture, Russian Academy of Sciences, Administration of St.Petersburg, House of Officers and the Exhibition - Congress Fund "Severnaya Palmira".

Carrying out of the Conference is dated for celebrating 60-th anniversary of the Victory of the World War II 1941 - 1945.

Delegations of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Byelorussia, Bulgaria, the Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, Georgia, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, China, Latvia, Lithuania, Mongolia, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, the United States of America, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Finland, France, Sweden, Estonia and Japan will take part in the International Conference.

The purposes of the Conference are: analysis the questions of theory and practice of activity of the military organization of the Russian (Soviet) state and its neighbors in peace and wartime. Very actual now days is the perfection of the military organization of the Russian Federation, promotion the determination of the basic directions of strengthening of national safety of the state and the international military cooperation and elaborate the methods of struggling against world terrorism.
